Mi-humain, mi-suricate, cet être hybride au corps unique est surmonté de têtes multiples, tendues de tous côtés. Les sens en éveil, guettant l’horizon et prêtes à donner l’alerte, elles contrastent avec la position résignée du corps, qui semble passif.
L’esprit de clan, de fraternité, mais aussi l’attente de l’inéluctable sont cristallisés dans sa posture. Cette pièce en grès blanc a été enfumée après cuisson au four raku. Des réserves réalisées en terre crue révèlent des zones claires trésaillées, qui adoucissent la brutalité de la terre brûlée.

Half-human, half-meerkat, this hybrid being with a single body is topped by multiple heads, stretched out on all sides. The senses alert, watching the horizon and ready to sound the alarm, they contrast with the resigned position of the body, which seems passive. The spirit of clan, of fraternity, but also the expectation of the inevitable are crystallized in its posture. This white stoneware piece was smoked after firing in a raku kiln. Reserves made of raw earth reveal light, treacherous areas, which soften the brutality of the burnt earth.
